Hospitality and restaurants

Workplace wellbeing in hospitality: measuring between one service and the next

Split shifts, high season and teams that change every month. BienestarHR gets in by QR code, asks in 20 seconds and helps make sure the season doesn't take the workforce with it.

The starting point

What happens in hospitality and restaurants

Three situations that keep coming back. None of them is fixed by an annual survey.

July decides the year

High season squeezes the whole team. When it ends, people are exhausted and the climate survey, if there is one, arrives in October.

Split shifts, no time for anything

Between the lunch service and the dinner service there's no meeting and no email. Any tool that asks for more than a minute doesn't get used.

Turnover taken as normal

It's assumed people leave. Nobody asks beforehand, and the exit survey isn't done because the relationship is already over.

How it fits

How BienestarHR fits

Measure, understand, act and check. These are the pieces that matter most in this sector.

High-season mode

More short questions in season, recovery at the end

The company switches on high-season mode for a period: more quick surveys on workload, energy and switching off, and a recovery campaign when it ends. It measures the team's pace, not each person's productivity.

  • Anonymous quick surveys, with a threshold of 5
  • Results per venue, kitchen and floor
  • Recovery campaign when the season closes

20-second check-in

Before service, from a phone

Energy, workload and mood with big buttons. Log in with the venue's QR code and SMS verification. No app, no password, no company email.

  • Answered during the break
  • Each person sees their trend
  • A reminder each person can mute

Joiners and leavers

Who joins in May and who leaves in September

A short onboarding journey for seasonal reinforcements and an anonymous exit survey that explains, as an aggregate, why they don't come back.

  • Onboarding journey with steps and deadlines
  • Anonymous exit survey
  • Readings per venue and per season

Roles

What each role sees

The rule is the same in every sector: each person sees their own data and the team is read as an aggregate.

Person

Sees their own data

Their account is theirs. Nobody else sees it.

  • Their check-in and their trend
  • Anonymous quick surveys
  • Benefits and recognition
  • Nobody sees their answer
Manager

Sees their team

Only as an aggregate and from 5 responses.

  • Their venue or section, from 5 responses
  • The venue's alerts and plans
  • No individual answers
HR

Sees the company

Map, alerts, plans and report. Never a record.

  • Map per venue and group
  • High-season mode
  • Onboarding and exit surveys
  • Never an individual record

Each person sees their own data. HR sees the team, and only from 5 responses. Never an individual record.

Questions about hospitality and restaurants

What exactly does high-season mode do?

During the period you set, it schedules more quick surveys on workload, energy and switching off and, at the end, launches a recovery campaign. It's a company setting; answers remain anonymous and with a threshold of 5.

One venue has 6 people and another 30. Are they compared?

Both appear if they reach 5 responses in the period. The comparison is with the company average and with the previous period, not between people.

Do seasonal reinforcements get in the same way?

Yes. They scan the venue's QR code and verify their phone. When they finish, HR removes them and they stop counting as active for billing.

Can the head waiter see what a waiter answered?

No. They see their section's aggregate when there are at least 5 responses. They don't see answers, names or who responded.
